Comprehensive reforms have been implemented in the Stamps and Registration Department to save people’s time and to speed up the registration process, Revenue, Housing, I & PR Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.

In a statement released on Sunday, he said that the practice of making buyers and sellers who come to register properties wait for hours under trees has been changed, and that the slot booking system is being implemented in a phased manner by modernising sub-registrar offices.

Slot booking has already been implemented in 22 sub-registrar offices on an experimental basis from April 10, and it was found to be successful, he said.

He said that this system is going to be implemented in 25 more sub-registrar offices from May 12. Steps are being taken to implement this system in the 144 remaining sub-registrar offices by the end of June, Ponguleti added.

He clarified that reforms are meant to provide fast and efficient services to the public, and the responsibility of implementing them lies with the officials.

He said that to implement the slot booking process in Sub-Registrar offices where the workload is high and in offices where more than 48 slots are required, additional Sub-Registrars will be appointed.

He informed that two additional Sub-Registrars and a staff member have already been appointed in the Qutbullahpur office in Medchal Malkajgiri district on an experimental basis.

This successful system will be introduced in the Uppal, Maheshwaram and Mancherial Sub-Registrar offices, and an additional Sub-Registrar will be appointed there, Ponguleti added.

He said that sub registrar offices are being reorganised, keeping in mind the slot booking system, and as part of this, steps have been taken to equalise the workload by merging Sub Registrar Offices with high and low congestion.

The jurisdiction of Champapet and Saroor Nagar Sub Registrar Offices in Rangareddy district has already been successfully merged. Shad Nagar and Farooq Nagar, and Siddipet and Siddipet (Rural) have also been merged, he said.

The sub registrar offices where slot booking will be implemented from May 12 are:

Hyderabad RO Office, Hyderabad RO Office South, Narapalli, Ghatkesar, Malkajgiri, Uppal, Capra, Bibinagar, Siddipet, Siddipet Rural, Gajwel, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Warangal RO Office, Jangaon, Ghanpur, Narsampet, Kalvakurthi, Narayanpet, Maheshwaram, Rangareddy RO Office, Shad Nagar, Farooq Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, and Serilingampalli.
