District Superintendent of Police Chandana Deepti has maintained that the police have been constantly monitoring the social media posts through its monitoring cell as part of enforcing the model election code of conduct.
In a statement here on Saturday, she warned of action against anyone found posting unsavoury remarks against political parties and individuals, posting hate messages, spewing venom to foment communal trouble and vitiate the law-and-order situation.
If anyone violates the model code of conduct, as per the election guidelines and various provisions of the Information Technology Act and Indian Penal Code stern action would be taken against them, she warned.
