Softball Sub-Jr Nationals: AP clinches championship

Andhra Pradesh sub junior softball boys’ and girls’ teams have clinched the 35th Sub Junior National Softball Championships, which culminated at the Montessori-A camp and District Sports Authority Grounds at Kurnool. Twenty-two States took part in the five-day National Softball Championship.

Both boys and girls came up with outstanding performances in the finals. The boys defeated Chhattisgarh (5-3), while the girls beat Madhya Pradesh (11-3). Since the beginning of the tournament, the hosts Andhra Pradesh have been performing exceptionally well. The Andhra Pradesh Softball Association organised celebrations at Kurnool.

Kurnool District Collector P Koteswara Rao, former MLA SV Mohan Reddy, Softball Association of India general secretary LR Mourya, treasurer Srikanth Torat, joint secretary and AP Softball Association CEO Venkateswara Rao and others presented trophies to the winning Andhra Pradesh teams.
