‘Some Roles Demand Everything’: Raashii Khanna opens up on intense preparation

Must read

Actress Raashii Khanna recently gave fans a sneak peek into the demanding nature of her upcoming project through a series of striking behind-the-scenes photos. Posting on Instagram, Raashii revealed a raw and gritty side of her character—bruised, bloodied, and deeply intense.

In the images, Raashii is seen dressed simply in a T-shirt and black pants, her face and hands showing visible marks of physical strain and injury. The actress’s focused expression underscores the commitment required for the role.

Accompanying the photos, Raashii wrote, “Some roles don’t ask. They demand. Your body. Your breath. Your bruises. And when you become the storm, you don’t flinch at the thunder. Coming soon…”

To prepare for this challenging role, Raashii underwent extensive physical training and stunt rehearsals, highlighting the physicality and dedication involved.

Most recently, she portrayed a resolute journalist in The Sabarmati Report, a political drama inspired by real events surrounding the Godhra train burning incident on February 27, 2002. Directed initially by Ranjan Chandel and later by Dheeraj Sarna, the film also stars Vikrant Massey and Riddhi Dogra.

In related news, Raashii appeared on Farah Khan’s YouTube vlog, where she opened up about her early days in the industry. She revealed that she was initially reluctant to pursue acting, especially for her debut film Madras Cafe in 2013.

Recalling the experience, Raashii said, “I ran away from the first audition. There were so many people. It was for a lip gloss ad. I was shy and scared.” When Farah asked if it was casting director Mukesh Chhabra, Raashii clarified, “No, I was sent to smaller auditions. There were no open auditions. I got a call from casting director Jogi Ji for Madras Cafe.”

Raashii admitted to initially declining the film offers, “I said ‘I am not interested in films. I don’t want to do it. I am here for a time pass.’ I refused twice, and the third time I accepted out of respect.”
