The Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA) announced their 16th Poultry India Expo 2024, South Asia’s largest poultry industry event in Hyderabad. The expo will take place from November 27 to 29 at the Hitex Exhibition Centre, with a Knowledge Day technical seminar on November 26 at the HICC Novotel.
This major event will feature over 400 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and expects around 40,000 visitors, including poultry farmers, officials, industry leaders and international experts.
In a curtain raiser event, IPEMA president Uday Singh Bayas emphasised the importance of the Knowledge Day seminar, bringing together over 1,500 delegates from 25 countries for seven sessions focused on vital issues for the poultry sector.
He highlighted the significance of the poultry industry in India, appealing for government support to aid over a million poultry farmers.
Uday raised concerns about rising input costs, particularly for feed ingredients like maize and soya and the impact of GST on poultry equipment and soya meal. He urged immediate government action, such as tax exemptions, expanded priority sector lending and increased maize production to stabilise feed prices and support the industry.
