-Seven districts receive excess rainfall and five districts get deficit rains

Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Telangana, said IMD. Rain occurred at most places over Telangana. As per IMD, Excess Rainfall was received in Siddipet 58%, Medak 51%, Sangareddy 47%,
Jangaon 34%, Vikarabad 34%, Nirmal 20% and Kamareddy 20%. 21 districts received normal rainfall from 01-06-2023 to 20-07-2023.
South west Monsoon in five districts was deficit with Suryapet -22%, Nagarkurnool -23%, Jogulamba -26%, Wanaparthy-26% and Khammam-28%.
IMD issued heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Siddipet, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy of Telangana. Thunderstorm accompanied with Lightning Very likely to occur at isolated places in few districts of North Telangana.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao held review on heavy rains in the State.
Following the increasing of paddy production in the state, the Chief Minister is holding a review meeting on the establishment of allied food processing industries and other related issues aiming to provide profits to the farming community.
The rains are due to the low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast now lies over south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining northwest & westcentral Bay of Bengal with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. It is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards across south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts during next 2 days.
