Even as the Maoists prepared to observe Martyrs’ week from July 28 to August 3, District Superintendent of Police P Karunakar on Tuesday made a fervent appeal to the people of the district to give information about Maoists and get rewarded suitably.
Wall posters and hand bills have been published appealing to the people to give information to the police leading to the apprehending of the Maoists and claim suitable reward.
The District police are visiting remote villages in forest areas and pasting the wall posters there.
The SP said that the Maoists have been resisting the development of the state and looting the innocent people. He held Maoists responsible for distancing away people from development.
The Maoists have been trying to woo the innocent people towards their movement in the name of Maoist ideology, the SP said appealing to the people not to walk into the Maoists’ trap.
He appealed to the Maoists to shun violence and join the national mainstream and lead a peaceful life.
He appealed to the people to pass on information about Maoists to call 8712658100 (SP Bhupalapally), 8712658101 (Bhupalapally OSD or Ashok Kumar or Kataram DSP) or 8712658104 (Bhupalapally DSP) or the local police.
Depending on the rank of the Maoists apprehended on the basis of the information provided, the quantum of reward ranges between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 20 lakh.
