District Superintendent of Police Sudheer Ramnadh Kekan on Thursday called upon the people to cooperate with police in peaceful Ganesh immersion and maintained that the police department has put in place foolproof measures for the same.
The Ganesh pandal organisers and Ganesh Utsav Committee members should follow the suggestions given by the police and extend their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the procession.
The SP said that CCTV cameras have been installed at important places as a security measure.
The local expert swimmers are available if anything goes wrong during the immersion. All along the route of the Ganesh immersion procession, he said, stringent measures have been initiated to prevent any untoward incident taking place with the help of all government departments.
Using DJ systems, sound systems and bursting of fire-crackers was prohibited, he said.
The youth should exercise restraint during the immersion procession and set as an example for others, especially the elders and the children.
Everyone should respect the rule of law and function within its parameters. If anyone violates the law, stringent measures would be initiated against them, he cautioned.
Therefore, he appealed to the people to completely cooperate with the police in peaceful and harmonious celebration of the Ganesh immersion procession
