On the lines of releasing a special postal stamp in connection with consecration of Lord Rama temple at Ayodhya, the postal department has brought out a special postal cover in connection with the Srirama Navami celebrations to be held on April 17 at Bhadrachalam.
The special cover, which was released at a function held in Hyderabad on Sunday at Dak Sadan by Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dev Singh Chauhan, contained the image of the deity of the Bhadrachalam temple.
These special covers have rare significance as the collectors gather them treating them as a heritage property for the benefit of the posterity. The postal department will print more and more such covers depending on the customer demand. These covers will be priced between Rs 5 and Rs 50. These covers will become useless once they reach the destination.
