In a significant meeting at the Srikakulam Zilla Parishad Hall, Mohammad Diwan Maidin, the Special Secretary of the State Housing Department, stressed the critical need for completing the Houses for All Poor scheme on time. The meeting, attended by District Collector Srikesh Lathkar and housing authorities, aimed to assess progress and address challenges in district-level housing initiatives.
Concerned about the district’s drop from the third to the fourth position in the state’s housing construction progress, Maidin warned of strict action against staff and engineering officers falling behind targets. He urged transparent services and seamless coordination among stakeholders to meet housing construction targets effectively. Engineering assistants in the district have specific targets in the mega housing drive. Maidin emphasized the role of Mandal Special Officers and officials in ensuring timely completion, stating they should work in coordination. Maidin stressed the necessity for advance arrangements of materials to prevent delays, emphasizing the provision of essential facilities upon house completion. Highlighting urgency, Maidin underscored immediate bill uploads for completed construction, ensuring swift payments. District Collector Srikesh Lathkar urged authorities to meet government targets and work in coordination. Officials were encouraged to hold mandal-level meetings to address beneficiary concerns and boost construction pace.
