Actor Sree Vishnu is in the news after the trailer of his film Single was released. In this trailer, a few dialogues related to the Manchu family, such as Kannappa and Manchu kurise poyindi, were used. It seems the makers of Single attempted to poke fun at the Manchu family through the trailer. Following the release, many criticised the makers for making fun of the Manchu family. In response, Sree Vishnu has apologised to the Manchu family for the use of those dialogues.
“The team of Kannappa was hurt after we had a few dialogues in our trailer and we didn’t intentionally use those words. If anyone was hurt, we want to say sorry to them,” said Sree Vishnu in a video released online. He added that his team took the references from social media related to actors like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Allu Aravind and others. “But the industry is like a family, and if we put something like this, we are very sorry. We were not intentional, and in the future, we don’t want to put anything like this,” added Sree Vishnu.
According to a source, Sree Vishnu not only released a video apologising but his team also submitted a letter to the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. The source further revealed that producer Allu Aravind called actor Manchu Vishnu and conveyed to him that the team had removed those references to the Manchu family from both the trailer and the film.
While the team and Sree Vishnu issued an apology to Manchu Vishnu, producer Bunny Vas from Allu Aravind’s production house posted something cryptic. He posted in Telugu, saying he wanted to react strongly to this controversy but decided to restrain himself. He wrote, “Santhi Santhi Santhi.” Another producer, SKN, from the same compound, replied stating that Bunny Vas asked him to speak openly and that if anything happens, we will see.”
