Visakhapatnam parliamentary candidate, M Sribharat of TDP, delivered scathing criticism of the YCP government’s developmental efforts in Andhra Pradesh, accusing them of systemic misuse and stagnation. Speaking at an alliance rally on Monday, hosted by Ganababu, the alliance candidate for the West Assembly constituency in Gopalapatnam, Sribharat voiced concerns over the erosion of democratic rights due to governmental abuse.
Addressing a gathering of Telugu Desam, Jana Sena, and BJP leaders and activists here on Monday Sribharat highlighted a pattern of intimidation and misuse of regulatory bodies by the YCP government. He cited instances where dissenting voices were suppressed, including the coercion of companies like Amar Raja to relocate to Telangana and the expulsion of businesses like Lulu Mall and IT firms from Visakhapatnam.
Sribharat also raised alarms over the State’s financial health, attributing the burgeoning debt to mismanagement. He emphasised the necessity of Central assistance for projects like Polavaram and overall state development, underscoring the alliance with the BJP at the Centre. Turning attention to public health concerns, Sribharat accused the government of profiting from liquor sales at the expense of citizens’ well-being. He lamented the absence of online payments for liquor purchases, alleging widespread corruption and substandard alcohol contributing to loss of lives.
Amidst the rally, Sribharat rallied workers to ensure smooth transfer of votes for alliance parties, expressing confidence in securing a larger majority this election. He endorsed Ganababu’s candidacy, hailing his competence and potential to drive regional development.
In response, Jana Sena’s West constituency convenor Durga Prashanthi and BJP convenor Dahari Ramesh, along with representatives from the Telugu Desam Party, echoed Sribharat’s sentiments, underscoring the importance of unity against the incumbent government. The event concluded with praise for Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan’s efforts to consolidate anti-government votes and a reaffirmation of the alliance’s commitment to victory in the upcoming elections.
