Srikanth, who plays a significant role in the highly anticipated film Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Ram Charan, has opened up about his experience working on the project. The film, set to release on January 10, 2025, has generated immense buzz, and Srikanth’s role is one of the most talked-about aspects.
“Working with director Shankar is a dream for many actors, and I consider myself fortunate to have such a significant role in his film,” said Srikanth. For his role, the team used prosthetics, and for the first time in his career, Srikanth looks completely different in this film.
“When they first narrated the first half, I questioned why they thought of me for this role and whether I could pull it off,” Srikanth recalled. “However, after hearing the second half, I knew I had to take on the role no matter what. Once the prosthetics were done and I got into the look, I felt confident that I could do justice to the role.”
Srikanth revealed that he plays the role of the chief minister in the film. “There is a positive and negative side to my character. These shades come out as per the situation,” he said. He added that he has scenes with many of the actors, including Charan, SJ Suryah, Jayaram and Samuthirakani.
“SJ Suryah’s performance is outstanding,” Srikanth praised. “Working with such versatile actors has been an amazing experience.”
Talking more about his character, Srikanth shared that the team created his look after seeing his father’s picture, who had passed away. “With that getup, I went straight home and my mother was shocked to see me like that,” he said. “To add to her surprise, I called her ‘Baby’ just to tease her. I never imagined I would resemble my father so much until I put on that getup.”
Srikanth has worked with Ram Charan previously, and he shared his thoughts on the actor’s growth. “When we did Govindudu Andarivadele, it was a kind of young character,” he said. “He is now doing matured characters, and he became a global star too, so the characters will be of that level. Playing the Appanna character in this movie is a challenging one, and for such characters, one needs a lot of experience. He aced it completely.” Overall, Srikanth’s experience working on Game Changer has been a memorable one and he is eager for audiences to see the film.
