SRM signs MoU with AIIMS Mangalagiri

A team from SRM University –AP met Dr Madabanandakar, Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Mangalagiri, on Friday. Vice-Chancellor of SRM University, Prof Manoj K Arora, spoke on the MoU between the two organisations regarding teaching and research projects.
He stated that SRM requires the mutual support and cooperation of AIIMS to implement the decisions taken through the MoU, and an action plan should be drawn up to move forward. On the occasion, Prof. Jayaseelan Murugaiyan, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences, explained the nature of the research undertaken at SRM University-AP through a PowerPoint presentation. Prof. Manoj further explained the progress of the research at the university.
Both organisations have expressed the need to collaborate on outreach programmes, workshops and patent inventions. The Director of AIIMS, Dr Madabanandakar, emphasised that it is crucial that SRM and AIIMS officials meet once a month to discuss research-related ventures and prospects. Dr Madabanandakar also said that AIIMS laboratories will be made available as and when required for joint research. Deputy Director of AIIMS Sashikant, Dr Seemanthakumar Doss, Dr Deepti, Dr Aarti Gupta, Dean-School of Engineering and Sciences, SRM University-AP, Prof C V Tomy, and Associate Professors Dr Mahesh Kumar Ravva and Dr K A Sunitha also attended the meeting.
