In a spirited address during a massive public gathering in Kalyanadurgam of Anantapur district on Saturday, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasised the importance of the upcoming elections as a crucial battleground for political ideologies. He cautioned the public to be wary of the reemergence of a coalition of political opportunists who seek to continue the policies of corruption and exploitation.
Speaking on the occasion of Rythu Dinotsavam, coinciding with his father’s Jayanti, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to make a choice between the YSRCP, a party committed to the sincere implementation of welfare programmes, and a group of political wolves who thrive on public funds.
Drawing inspiration from his father, former chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who was renowned for his dedication to the welfare of farmers, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy vowed to carry forward the legacy of working for the well-being of farmers and various other social groups with the same commitment and integrity.
Taking a dig at TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, the Chief Minister accused them of vying for political power solely to satisfy their personal interests, with the support of their friendly media outlets.
Highlighting the YSRCP’s achievements, he proudly stated, “We have already invested Rs 2.25 lakh crore in various welfare programmes, demonstrating our commitment and sincerity. The TDP, during its previous rule, failed to effectively implement any welfare schemes. However, they are now attempting to return to power, assisted by their friendly media and ‘foster son’, with false promises and the intention to once again exploit public funds. The people must remain vigilant.”
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the electorate to choose between the YSRCP, a party dedicated to the implementation of welfare programmes with genuine concern, and the TDP and its allies, who lack commitment and compassion towards addressing the people’s issues.
“Choose between Rythu Rajyam, facilitated through RBKs, and political brokers; between those determined to construct houses for the poor and those who resort to obstructionist tactics, taking the matter to court; between those who introduced English medium education for the benefit of the underprivileged and those who oppose such reforms that uplift the backward classes; choose between a government that supports the disadvantaged and one that favors capitalists; between those who fulfill their promises and manifestos, and those who betray the people by discarding their pledges and deceiving all sections of society,” urged the Chief Minister.
Emphasising that he does not rely on friendly media or ‘fostered’ relationships to advance his political agenda, Chief Minister Jagan called upon the people to stand with the YSRCP in the upcoming elections and secure victory if they have benefited from the myriad welfare schemes implemented by the party.
