Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came down heavily on the coalition government, alleging that the State is witnessing unprecedented and alarming developments that threaten the integrity of democratic institutions.
Addressing the Political Advisory Committee (PAC) — the party’s highest decision-making body — in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Jagan said the government is arbitrarily arresting individuals and foisting false cases to stifle dissent and create a climate of fear. “It is time we raise our voice and question the State to safeguard democracy,” he asserted.
He accused the government of using diversionary tactics to suppress public issues, corruption, and misgovernance. These include arresting prominent individuals and circulating false narratives about the YSRCP leadership, he said. Referring to the arrest of the former Intelligence Chief and the questioning of MP Mithun Reddy and other officials, Jagan alleged that the government is acting with vengeance.
