Osmania University Vice Chancellor Professor D. Ravinder, Registrar Prof P Lakshminarayana, OSD to VC Prof Redya Naik, Infrastructure Director Prof Naveen Kumar, Nizam College Principal Professor B. Bhima,Engineering College Principal Professor Sriram Venkatesh, Professor Gopal Naik, Nizamu College Vice Principal Dr. G. Upender Reddy, Greater Hyderabad Gun Foundry Corporator Dr. B. Surekha, HMDA Chief Engineer B. L. N. Reddy and others were present.
On this occasion, Minister KTR said that for the construction of class room complex and boys hostel in Nizam College from HMDA and Urban Development departments Rs. 18.75 crores has been sanctioned. Also, OU campus has asked for a link road of Rs. KTR announced that 16 crores will be sanctioned. KTR also announced that more funds will be granted to build more floors in the college as per the needs of the students. He said that apart from building constructions, there is also a need to protect sports grounds for students to play.
Therefore, they said that permission will be given for construction of G Plus 15 floors also in Nizam College.He explained that he is working for the progress of education and the welfare of the students while developing the historic Nizam College.Besides, Minister KTR revealed that he has a special fondness for Nizam College where he studied.
CM KCR is working to increase employment opportunities for students by introducing new courses as per the changing conditions . He said that Rs 140 crores have already been allocated for the OU infrastructure.
He said that it is a matter of pride that OU was ranked fourth at the national level recently in a survey conducted by India Today. Appreciated that VC Professor Ravinder is working hard for the progress of OU.
State Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy who attended the program said that the minister thanked KTR for sanctioning funds for the construction of girls hostel and class room complex boys hostel in Nizam College. She explained that the percentage of gross enrollment in higher education in Telangana is higher than the national level and this is due to the efforts of the state Chief Minister KCR.
She said that the enrollment percentage of girls in gurukula schools, colleges and universities today is 60 to 70 percent due to the efforts of the Telangana government.
OU Vice-Chancellor Professor D Ravinder said that with the blessings of the Chief Minister of the State, KCR, with the cooperation of the Minister of State, KTR, many development programs are being carried out in the OU. The VC thanked KTR for sanctioning funds for construction of class room complex and hostels in Nizam College.
He explained that many programs are being organized to increase the employment opportunities of the students along with their welfare. The VC explained that many new courses have been introduced in OU in order to increase the employment of students according to the market needs.
Nizam College Principal Professor B. Bhima said he thanked the State Minister KTR for sanctioning funds for many constructions in Nizam College. Also the principal Explained about the progress of the college.
