The BC Welfare Department has released Rs 400 crore for its Rs 1 lakh BC Bandhu scheme. These funds will be given to beneficiaries selected under the scheme.
The Telangana government led by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to BC individuals who are engaged in the traditional jobs of their castes.
The government has now started the selection process for the scheme that provides financial assistance to BC families engaged in traditional jobs and handicrafts.
In its order, the TS government announced financial assistance to support workers engaged in caste-based professions and artisans. It was decided to provide assistance of Rs 1 lakh to those who pursue their caste-based professions and artisans.
The website for this has been launched and applications for the scheme are coming in like a deluge. People belonging to castes like Vishwa Brahmins, Nayi Brahmins, Rajakus, Kummari, Medari etc. have applied on the website for financial assistance.
The financial assistance is provided for purchasing tools and raw materials to those eligible working in traditional caste-based professions and artisans.
Centre releases Rs 400 crore for BC assistance scheme
Meanwhile, the government has started the selection process for the scheme to provide a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to BC families who are doing caste-based jobs or handicraft work. The ministerial sub-committee directed the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department to examine the applications received village-wise, collect information at the field level and prepare lists of those who are eligible.
Collectors have assigned these responsibilities to Panchayat Secretaries under their jurisdiction. Mandal Parishad officials and Mandal Panchayat officials have been advised to monitor this.
The Secretaries are collecting the information and are also sending the prescribed sample document to beneficiaries.
