Minister for Civil Supplies K Venkata Nageswara Rao unveiled 18 bust size statues of freedom fighters in Tanuku on Wednesday in the freedom fighters park located at bank colony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the statues were unveiled to tell future generations the history of the warriors of Tanuku in India’s freedom movement.
He said that during British rule, they fought for freedom and spent lives in prison. He said that everyone should salute the courage of those who vowed to fight no matter how many kinds of torture they face.
Minister Venkata Nageswara Rao made it clear that community halls have been constructed in Tanuku in the name of former MLAAs and their statues were installed.
On this occasion, Minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao reminded that statues of national leaders have been installed in YSR Park as well. MLC Vanka Rabindranath said that Minister Karumuri is appreciative of installing the statues of freedom fighters in the park. Vanka Rabindranath said that he feels proud tzo have the statue of his father Vanka Satyanarayana among those warriors.
The minister felicitated senior journalist Bellamkonda Butcchibabu on the occasion. State Settibalija corporation chairman Gubbala Tammaiah, Municipal Commissioner KT Sudhakar and DEE Kovvuri Eeshwar Reddy.
