Stone for new railway zone may be laid in Dec

During his two-day visit, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday evening. Following the meeting, the Chief Minister posted on the social media platform X, “I met with Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, IT, and I&B, Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji, and thanked him for advancing the long-pending assurance of establishing a Railway Zone with Vizag as its Headquarters. I am hopeful that the foundation stone for the new zone will be laid by December. The Hon’ble Minister has informed me that the Railways is investing Rs 73,743 crore in various infrastructure projects across Andhra Pradesh. These projects include the four-laning of the Howrah-Chennai stretch in AP, modernising 73 stations, and introducing more local trains.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh looks forward to partnering with Indian Railways to strengthen the logistical and commuter infrastructure in the state.”
The Chief Minister is scheduled to meet several Union Ministers in Delhi on Tuesday before returning to Andhra Pradesh. He will meet Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, and Hardeep Singh Puri. Later in the evening, he will meet Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
On Monday, around 1:30 PM, the Chief Minister departed for Delhi from Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad on a special flight.
