Dr G Lakshmisha, the newly appointed Collector of NTR district, has emphasised the need for a collective goal of strengthening the public education system, which serves the underprivileged and marginalised sections of society. He made these remarks during a courtesy visit by representatives of the Democratic Progressive Recognised Teachers Union led by State president Dr D Srinu.
The teacher’s union leaders met the Collector at his office on Thursday. During the meeting, Dr Srinu highlighted the various voluntary educational and social service activities undertaken by their Teachers Service Wing. These include flood relief camps, medical camps, COVID-19 service camps, blood donation drives, scholarships, free study material for underprivileged students, and awards. The organisation has also conducted environmental awareness campaigns, such as “No Plastic” initiative.
Dr Srinu also informed the Collector about the collaborative efforts in educational and social service activities conducted in the past along with previous district collectors. He extended an invitation to Dr Lakshmisha to participate as the chief guest in upcoming service initiatives organised by them. The Collector accepted the invitation.
Union general secretaries M Prabhakar and P Nagaraju, senior leaders D Srinivasa Rao, and others were present.
