Stress on cooperation between NTR, Khammam districts

An Inter-State Border Coordination Meeting was held between NTR district in Andhra Pradesh and Khammam in Telangana, at the Srirastu Convention Centre, Rajupet, at Tiruvuru in NTR district on Thursday. Collector Dr S Dilli Rao, Police Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata, Khammam District Collector VP Gowtham, and Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt attended the meeting.
Besides, Returning Officers (RO), Revenue, Police, Excise, Transport, Income Tax, Commercial Tax, GST, Forest, Banking and other departments’ Nodal Officers of the border Assembly constituencies in both districts participated in the meeting. The officials discussed preventing illegal transportation of money, liquor, ganja, and other valuable goods.
Also, the meeting decided to continue the steps taken at the border checkpoints. The officials also stressed the need for cooperation between the two districts to conduct the general elections peacefully and transparently.
Later, Collector Dilli Rao told the media that cooperation and coordination are necessary for strict vigilance at the inter-State border checkpoints. The Election Commission of India (ECI) is giving priority to ethical voting in a peaceful atmosphere.
Both district authorities are working in cooperation. Tight security is in place at Rajupeta, Ashtalakshmi Temple, Gampalagudem-Rajavaram, and Nuthipadu in NTR district and Muthugudem and Khajipuram check-posts in Khammam district, he added.
Meanwhile, the Khammam District Collector said that inter-state border check-posts between NTR and Khammam districts should work more effectively for a peaceful election. He said the district officials would provide full support to the NTR district.
Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata said that if necessary, additional check-posts would be arranged between these two districts. With the cooperation of the Khammam district police, they have enacted strict security at the checkpoints. Khammam CP Sunil Dutt said that they would concentrate on main roads including internal roads to prevent illegal transportation of money, liquor, ganja, and other valuable goods.
NTR District Nodal Officer M Krishna Murthy Naidu, Election Expenditure Nodal Officer Srinivas Reddy, LDM K Priyanka, Nandigama RDO A Ravindra Rao and others were present.
