Must read

District Collector C Narayan Reddy stated that the responsibility for providing safe drinking water and sanitation, as well as the management of government institutions, lies with officials at both district and village levels. As part of the Praja Vani programme, he received public complaints on Monday in the meeting hall of the Collectorate.
He urged the Special Officers to regularly conduct sanitation programmes in the villages and mentioned that an audit of sanitation along with plant management will be conducted next week. He instructed the Special Officers to ensure that 100% of the work is completed in the villages, stating that they would support those who perform well. He emphasized the need for plants to be present on both sides of roads, in village nature parks, and government institutions, and called for the removal of invasive species while promoting the growth of saplings planted during Vanamahotsav.
He also stressed the importance of ASHA workers functioning effectively in villages, not only monitoring and providing medicines during fever outbreaks but also focusing on childbirth. He reiterated the importance of maintaining safe drinking water supply, sanitation, and proper management of government institutions, cautioning against any carelessness in these matters.
Regarding the receipt of public complaints, he instructed that legitimate grievances should be resolved promptly and emphasised that Special Officers must visit their designated areas at least once a week. He called for continuous monitoring and resolution of district and mandal-level complaints by the Special Officers.
The Collector announced that he would review mandal-level petitions with RDVOs next week.
