Sub-Registrar offices being revamped to provide better services: Ponguleti

The government will KT Rama Rao offices to provide effective, transparent services to the public, Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.
He said the government will construct permanent buildings with state-of-the-art facilities and that construction will be carried out in four districts in the first phase. He said that a Model Registration Office will be constructed at Gachibowli.
On Tuesday, the Minister held a meeting with the collectors of Rangareddy Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy and district registrars along with the MP of Khammam, Ramsahayam Raghurama Reddy. Revenue Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Stamps and Registration IG Jyoti Buddhaprakash and others attended the meeting.

The Minister advised officers to reorganize Sub-Registrar offices and construct new buildings to provide people with better facilities.
He said that permanent sub-registrar offices are being built across the state with state-of-the-art facilities and ordered collectors to identify lands for them.
“At present, there are 144 sub-registrar offices in the state, out of which only 37 have own buildings and the rest are in rented buildings. We will construct sub-registrar offices with modern facilities in a phased manner,” the Minister said.

In the first phase, Sangareddy, Patancheru in Sangareddy district, Medchal, Quthbullahpur, Uppal in Medchal Malkajgiri district, Kandukur sub-registrar office in Fourth City, Gandipet, Serilingampally, Rangareddy district registrar office would be constructed. An integrated sub-registrar’s office is being constructed for these three sub-registrar offices at Gachibowli at the Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management office and have been ordered to take steps to lay the foundation stone for it within a month, he said.

He said that this integrated sub-registrar’s office would be a model. Regarding Hyderabad district, it has been decided to build the three sub-registrar offices of Banjara Hills, SR Nagar and Golconda in the Sheikhpet area.

He said that sub-registrar offices to be built in the first phase will be built on at least three acres and the building will have an area of 10,000 to 15,000 square feet. They would have a waiting hall, drinking water facility and ample parking space.

He said that officials were advised to undertake reorganisation of Sub-Registrar offices to provide better services to the public. Setting up of new sub-registrar offices in areas where demand is high will provide efficient services to the public.

The Minister said integrated sub-registrar offices will not only improve performance but also facilitate supervision and reduce corruption, equalize workload and speed up the processing of files.
