Congress poll strategist Sunil Kanugolu approached the High Court challenging the notices issued by the Telangana State Cyber Crime Police. The Cyber Crime Police had served notices on Sunil Kanugolu under Section 41(A) of CrPC asking him to appear before them on December 30. Sunil requested the HC to grant a stay on the notices.
The High Court will hear Sunil’s petition on December 30. Meanwhile, Sunil got some relief as the Cyber Crime Police extended the investigation date from December 30 to January 8 considering his request that he needed 10 more days’ time.
It may be recalled that the Cyber Crime police had conducted raids on December 15 on Sunil’s office alleging that his team has been uploading abusive posts on social media against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Kavitha, Minister KT Ramarao and the BRS.
The Cyber Crime Police also arrested three members of Sunil’s team. Later, the police issued notices to Sunil and his three team members.
