Marking the completion of one year in office, the coalition government led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is set to hold a grand state-level meeting titled ‘Suparipalana – Swarna Andhra Pradesh’ on June 12 (Thursday) at Velagapudi in Amaravati. The event will see participation from Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, ministers, MLAs and key dignitaries. CM Naidu will deliver a comprehensive address, highlighting the government’s performance and future roadmap.

Chief Secretary K Vijayanand issued G.O.Rt.No.1137 to officially announce the event. In case of adverse weather, the programme will be shifted to Murali Resorts at Poranki, near Vijayawada.

The Chief Minister is expected to spotlight major welfare and development initiatives taken during the year. These include the enhanced NTR Bharosa pension scheme benefiting 64 lakh people with Rs 2,720 crore disbursed monthly, totalling Rs 34,000 crore annually. The government also delivered on its key poll promise by releasing the DSC notification for 16,347 teacher posts.

Another major achievement is the rollout of the Deepam-2 scheme, which has seen the distribution of one crore free gas cylinders at a cost of Rs 2,684 crore.

The government also repealed the controversial Land Titling Act and G.O. 217 that affected fishermen’s livelihoods. Under the Matsyakarula Sevalo scheme, Rs 259 crore has been disbursed as part of a Rs 20,000 per fisherman aid package.

Infrastructure restoration has seen Rs 1,200 crore spent on repairing 20,000 km of roads. In urban areas, 83 lakh metric tonnes of garbage have been cleared and the garbage tax scrapped. Meanwhile, 203 Anna Canteens have resumed operations, with 61 more set to open soon.

On the agri front, Rs 13,584 crore was paid to 8.5 lakh farmers, including Rs 1,674 crore in pending dues from the previous regime. A record 55.57 lakh metric tonnes of grain were procured.

The government claims to have attracted Rs 4.95 lakh crore in investments through 6 SIPB projects, potentially creating 4.5 lakh jobs. Major projects include NTPC’s Rs 1.85 lakh crore Green Energy Project in Anakapalle, Reliance’s Rs 65,000 crore CBG plants, LG’s Rs 5,000 crore unit in Sri City, and ArcelorMittal’s Rs 1.35 lakh crore steel plant.

Amaravati has received a Rs 15,000 crore push from the Centre, while the Polavaram project got Rs 12,500 crore. The state also secured Rs 5,000 crore for industrial estates in Orvakal and Kopparthi, and a railway zone was sanctioned for Visakhapatnam.

Other key developments include revival of 73 central schemes, launch of MSME parks across 175 constituencies, free sand policy, a new liquor policy, WhatsApp-based Mana Mitra services, and the launch of Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs. Amaravati’s tech push continues with land allotments for TCS, Google, and the proposed Quantum Valley.

A 57-km railway line to Amaravati, sanctioned with Rs 2,245 crore, adds to the ambitious infrastructure plan laid out by the government in its first year.
