The Andhra Pradesh government will launch a massive public awareness campaign on the benefits of land reforms, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Thursday.
The campaign will be aimed at countering the false and misleading propaganda being spread by a section of the media, which is envious of the government’s pro-people initiatives, Reddy said.
He was speaking at a review meeting on the ‘Saswatha Bhu Hakku-Bhu Raksha’ (Safe Land Rights-Land Protection) programme, which is aimed at providing clear and accurate land records to all landholders in the State.
“We are taking all possible steps to ensure that people get the benefits of land reforms,” Reddy said. “We have already completed the survey of 2,000 villages and handed over land ownership documents to 7.8 lakh people. We are also setting up registration offices in all these villages.”
The Chief Minister directed the officials to take all necessary steps to ensure a hassle-free registration process in all villages. He also advised them to establish mobile courts at the mandal level to resolve land-related grievances and disputes. The public awareness campaign will be launched in all districts of the state and will be carried out through various media platforms, including print, electronic, and social media.
The campaign will highlight the benefits of land reforms, such as increased transparency, security of tenure, and improved access to credit and other government benefits. It will also debunk the false propaganda being spread by a section of the media.
The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to ensuring that all landholders in the state have clear and accurate land records. He said that land reforms are essential for the development of the state and for improving the lives of the people.
