Discussing the rigourous preparation for their role, Sushant shared, “Jazz is more than just a genre; it’s a feeling, a journey. Preparing for Tara’s character was a fascinating experience. It involved immersing myself in the nuances of jazz singing—every note and rhythm had to resonate with the authenticity of the era. Tara’s story unfolds through music, revealing layers of vulnerability and strength. As someone who embraces their queerness, bringing this character to life was an incredible blend of my own identity and Tara’s narrative. This opportunity to lend my voice to the original tracks in 36 Days has been a truly groundbreaking moment in my career.” In 36 Days, the integration of jazz is not merely a backdrop but a crucial element that unveils Tara’s inner world and history. Sushant’s dedication to mastering the art of jazz singing enriches the series, making Tara’s character all the more compelling. Produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India, 36 Days is directed by Vishal Furia. Alongside Sushant, the series also features Neha Sharma, Purab Kohli, Shruti Seth, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Amruta Khanvilkar, Sharib Hashmi, Shernaz Patel, Kenneth Desai, Faisal Rashid and Chahat Vig, among others.
