BAPATLA: The timely action of the police saved the lives of two tourists at Suryalanka beach on Sunday. A large number of tourists come to the famous Suryalanka beach on holidays. The police, keeping in view the previous drowning incidents, made additional arrangements to ensure that such incidents do not recur. On August 13, a large number of tourists visited the beach and some ventured into the sea for a bath. When Kottapatnam marine police constables N Ganesh and M Venkateswarulu were on duty, some tourists, who came from the Kurnool district, ventured into the sea. Two of the tourists P Mahesh and G Ramana were found drowning in the sea. The two marine constables immediately went to their rescue. Risking their lives, the constable rescued the two tourists and brought them to shore safely. The two tourists were later handed over to their friends and relatives. SP Vakul Jindal appreciated the police personnel’s timely action and efficient steps taken to protect the lives of tourists at Surya Lanka Beach.
