Actress Sydney Sweeney, who rose to prominence for her parts in television dramas such as The White Lotus and Euphoria, in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actress, expressed her thoughts on all of the mocking surrounding Madame Web.
According to the source, Sydney is ‘unfazed by the severe, sarcastic response to the recent disappointment of Madame Web.’ They also reported the actor as saying she was committed to the Marvel film no matter how it turned out. She went on to say, “I was just hired as an actress in it, so I was just along for the ride for whatever was going to happen.”
Sydney portrayed Julia Cornwall, an iteration of Spider Woman, in the film starring Dakota Johnson. After the film received bad reviews from both critics and fans, Sydney remarked on Saturday Night Live, “You definitely didn’t see me in Madame Web.” Fans also noticed Dakota’s indifference to promoting the film during her press tour.
Jimmy Kimmel also made a Madame Web joke when hosting the Academy Awards. During his monologue, he stated, “The people in this room have produced so many wonderful films and memorable performances. This night is full of incredible talent and untapped potential, but so was Madame Web.” According to Collider, the film’s global gross is $96 million, with a 15% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
In 2023, Sydney starred in Reality, Americana, and Anyone But You, for which she also served as executive producer. She will soon appear in Michael Mohan’s Immaculate, a psychological horror thriller that will be released on March 22. The film had its debut at the South by Southwest Film and TV Festival on Tuesday.
She previously collaborated with the filmmaker on Everything Sucks and The Voyeurs. She will also soon appear in Echo Valley and Eden.
