Emphasising that the new gold rush has begun with talent as the new goal, and Global Capability Centers (GCCs) driving the second economic earthquake through transformations and innovative technologies, which is just getting started in the city, Vikram Ahuja, Co-founder of ANSR, gave an expert talk at the GCC Innovation Summit at T-Hub on Friday evening.
Addressing GCC leaders and startup innovators, Vikram Ahuja, Co-founder of ANSR, highlighted how GCCs have evolved from cost arbitrage to talent arbitrage. He said GCCs 8.0 integrates innovation, startups, and top-tier talent, and predicted that the number of GCCs will grow to 2,500 in the next five years. He emphasized that 60% of GCCs are established by mid-sized companies, which are driving the next phase of growth. He also noted that building a global workforce is now a reality.
Ahuja concluded by emphasising the golden opportunity for GCCs to collaborate with academia, startups, and innovation to become economic catalysts and global leaders.
Meanwhile, Special Chief Secretary to the Information Technology department Jayesh Ranjan announced government support for infrastructure challenges and encouraged GCCs to link with the BFSI consortium. He stressed the importance of young innovators in the city’s growth.
Speaking as the Chief Guest for the first ever GCC Smimmit, Information Technology Minister D Sridhar Babu, spoke about advancing innovation and entrepreneurship. He cited the recent AI summit, where seven foundational pillars were initiated, including a Skill University for technology skills.
He mentioned plans for an exclusive AI city and highlighted that the groundbreaking of the AI City will take place in the first quarter of next year.
Sridhar Babu also said that a Centre of Excellence has been planned to create new skills and adapt to market changes. The minister concluded by stating the state’s goal to make Hyderabad a global leader in AI and reach a $1 trillion economy in the next 10 to 14 years.
