Actress Tamannaah Bhatia was summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Police on Thursday to come in for questioning about the illicit streaming of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 matches on the Fair Play app, which she and other celebrities were purportedly promoting. She is expected to appear before the police on April 29.
The persons with knowledge of the situation said that Bhatia’s statement will be recorded by the agency as a witness in the investigation. Without getting permission from Viacom 18, which held the exclusive rights to broadcast the cricket competition, they supported and encouraged the application that had unlawfully placed hoardings throughout the city of the live transmission of the Indian Premier League 2023, according to officials.
An investigative official from the Maharashtra Cyber Police stated, “We have called the actress on April 29.”
