The ongoing divorce battle between Tamil actor Ravi Mohan and his estranged wife, Aarti Ravi, has taken center stage on social media once again, with both parties exchanging statements that have fueled public speculation over the past six months. Their legal separation, which began last September, is currently being heard at the Chennai Family Welfare Court.
This week, both Ravi and Aarti appeared before the 3rd Additional Family Welfare Court in Chennai, where Judge Thenmozhi presided over the proceedings. According to a News18 report, Ravi Mohan firmly stated in his petition that reconciliation was impossible and expressed his desire to finalize the divorce. On the other hand, Aarti filed a counter-petition seeking maintenance of ?40 lakhs per month to support herself financially post-separation. The court has adjourned the case until 12 June.
Ravi and Aarti were married for 15 years before their relationship began unraveling publicly in 2024, when Ravi left their home citing irreconcilable differences and filed for divorce. The situation intensified after Ravi’s friendship with singer Keneeshaa Francis came under the media spotlight. The controversy escalated further when Ravi was seen attending a high-profile wedding in Chennai last week alongside Keneeshaa, the daughter of producer and entrepreneur Dr Ishari K Ganesh.
On 20 May, Aarti Mohan took to Instagram to address the rumors and allegations. Though she did not name anyone specifically, she hinted that a ‘third person’ entering their marriage was the real cause of the breakdown, dismissing claims about money, power, or control being responsible. “None of these are why our marriage suffers. There is a third person in our marriage. What broke us wasn’t something between us — it was someone outside. The ‘light of your life’ brought only darkness to ours. That’s the truth,” she wrote, referencing Ravi’s public remarks about Keneeshaa.
