CPM State secretary TammineniVeerabhadram paid glowing tributes to Comrade Nannuri Anji Reddy at a condolence meeting held here on Thursday and described death of Anji Reddy, who relentlessly worked for the rights of the poor, caused a void to the people’s movements.
Highlighting the presence of Communists in all spheres of activity worldwide, he expressed concern over the major corporation company leaders entered the politics and polluted the scenario.
The common man is not able to live in the contemporary society with education and health being controlled by private individuals. Moreover, there was shortage of jobs and wages are inadequate, he said calling for building an egalitarian society that provides equal opportunities to receive education and health treatment.
The political leaders became corrupt and inducing the people with their money power, alcohol and on the lines of caste and religion. Upon getting voted to power, the politicians have been hiking prices of essential commodities and not providing employment to the people.
He appreciated Anji Reddy for donating his body for the purpose of education of medical students.
Anji Reddy was active in farmers and agricultural workers’ association during the past 40 years. He worked for increasing the wages of the agricultural workers. He recalled how he served the poor by converting his house as the CPM office. He appealed to the one and all to work for fulfilling his objectives.

Senior communist party leader Bontala Chandra Reddy, state committee member Tummala Veera Reddy and several leaders of the CPM condoled the death of Anji Reddy.
