In a bold assertion, YSRCP general secretary and Government Advisor (Public Affairs), Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, reiterated that former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was the linchpin behind the Rs. 371 crore skill development scam, pointing to compelling evidence collected by the CID.

Following Naidu’s remand to judicial custody by the ACB court in Vijayawada on Sunday, Reddy addressed the media, accusing Naidu of plundering millions in public funds through the creation of shell companies and clandestine alliances. “Chandrababu Naidu played the role of scriptwriter, producer, and director in this sordid scam,” Reddy declared, underscoring the substantial evidence that allegedly ties Naidu to the masterminding of the scheme. Reddy went further, asserting that Naidu’s entire political career was tarnished by corruption, with his involvement apparent in various scandals, including the assigned lands controversy, insider trading of Amaravati lands, and more.

“The former Chief Minister stands accused of multiple financial transgressions during his time in office,” Reddy stated emphatically, adding that the skill development scam was merely the tip of the iceberg.

Addressing the circumstances surrounding Naidu’s arrest, Reddy disclosed that while the CID had attempted to arrange a helicopter for his transportation to Vijayawada out of respect for his age and status, Naidu had chosen to travel by road, potentially as a ploy to garner sympathy.

Reddy expressed dismay at the disruption caused by TDP cadres and Naidu’s supporters following the arrest, and he criticized Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan for what he perceived as theatrical behavior.

Taking issue with the derogatory language used by Nara Lokesh, Reddy condemned Pawan Kalyan for attempting to incite law and order disturbances.

Rather than showing remorse for his alleged involvement in the scam, Reddy accused Naidu and other TDP leaders of trying to manipulate public sentiment by provoking unrest and obstructing the police in the performance of their duties.

When pressed on whether political motives were behind Naidu’s arrest, Reddy denied any bias and asserted that the investigating agency had adhered to established procedures throughout the case.
