Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath expressed his disagreement with Chandrababu Naidu’s aspirations of becoming the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, stating that it would remain a mere dream. He alleged that certain sections of the media were spreading false information about industries in AP.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, the Minister addressed these concerns and said that the Opposition had already recognised the likelihood of a repeat of the 2019 election results in the upcoming 2024 elections.
The Minister ridiculed JSP chief Pawan Kalyan for organising the ‘Varahi Vijaya Yatra’ without actually participating in the elections. He criticised Kalyan, pointing out that he fell ill with a fever even before completing a week-long tour. “Do you believe that politics is akin to an OTT web series? You may be a hero in movies, but in politics, you play a supporting role,” he stated. The party leaders initially envisioned Kalyan as a hero in his own movie, but now it seems he has become a side character in someone else’s film.
Furthermore, the Minister asserted that Chandrababu Naidu played the role of a villain in Andhra Pradesh politics. If Pawan Kalyan attempts to contest alone in all 175 constituencies, people will have their own perceptions of him in the future. He affirmed that YSRCP is aiming to secure victory in all 175 seats, while the Opposition is attempting to field candidates in all of them as well. He made it evident that regardless of the number of yatras the TDP and JSP undertake, the results of the 2019 elections will be repeated. Minister Gudivada Amarnath directed his criticism at Pawan Kalyan, stating that the JSP was formed with the intention of defeating Jagan, a notion that the people would not support.
In the initial meeting, Kalyan asked the crowd to elect him as an MLA, in the second meeting, he aspired to become the CM, and in the third meeting, he declared that even if he lost the elections, he would continue his tours. Most recently, Kalyan mentioned that he would handle the alliance.
The Minister questioned the purpose of having a separate political party if Pawan Kalyan wished for Chandrababu Naidu to win the elections and become the CM, suggesting that he merge his party with the TDP instead.
Addressing the recently released TDP manifesto, the Minister highlighted that Chandrababu, until very recently, had criticised the YSRCP for their various welfare schemes. However, the recent TDP manifesto has included promises that are copied from various political parties, including the ruling YSRCP. The minister stated that during the TDP’s rule from 2014 to 2019, not a single promise was fulfilled. Now, the TDP has once again presented a misleading manifesto to deceive the people.
