“This role is not just a title—it’s a testament to my belief in TDP’s founding ideals,” declared Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao, as he delivered his first address in his new role at the party’s annual Mahanadu plenary held in Kadapa on Monday.
Reflecting on his political journey from a grassroots worker to the State president of the TDP, Palla called the occasion a personal and ideological milestone. He expressed deep gratitude to the party’s national leadership and particularly to TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh for their unwavering support.
Highlighting the success of organising the Mahanadu in Kadapa, Palla noted that the overwhelming response had proved sceptics wrong. Recalling the party’s first Mahanadu in 1983 under founder N.T. Rama Rao, he said the TDP had since transformed Indian politics by championing self-respect and democratic empowerment.
Palla lauded TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visionary leadership, citing the “Vision 2020” policy framework as a benchmark in governance. He called on the party cadre to work towards building a “Swarna Andhra” by 2047.
Commending Nara Lokesh’s 3,132-km Yuvagalam padayatra, Palla said it had infused fresh energy into the party ranks.
He also appreciated Lokesh’s initiatives to enrol one crore members and establish a dedicated welfare cell for party workers.
Touching on Naidu’s 52-day incarceration, Palla hailed the global solidarity shown by party supporters during that time. He concluded by urging the cadre to stay politically aware and disciplined, stating that “Mission 2029” would demand collective and consistent efforts to return the TDP to power.
