Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh has emphasised that TDP leaders and workers should remain constantly accessible to serve the public. During his tour of the Undi constituency on Monday, Lokesh visited the residence of Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishna Raju in Amirabad and addressed party workers gathered there. He urged leaders to avoid unnecessary pomp and arrogance during their visits, stating that such behaviour is not acceptable to the public.
Criticising the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, Lokesh pointed out a monthly budget deficit of Rs 4,000 crore, which he attributed to financial mismanagement. Despite this, he highlighted TDP’s welfare measures, including increasing pensions by Rs 1,000, making them the highest in the country, launching ‘Anna Canteens’, and providing free gas cylinders. Lokesh asserted that every promise made by TDP was being fulfilled systematically and added that Jagan had no moral ground to question TDP’s governance.
He stressed that TDP gives unparalleled recognition to its workers compared to other parties. Lokesh proposed that party workers from the village level should have opportunities to rise to the Political Bureau level. He discussed the idea of limiting leaders to two terms in a position, after which they should either move up or step down, to allow new leadership to emerge. Lokesh mentioned that he and Union Minister Rammohan Naidu would work as ordinary party workers if this system was adopted.
Lokesh further announced that the party would support workers in achieving financial stability, with plans for health schemes and employment opportunities for their children. He assured that those involved in unlawful activities during the past five years would face consequences. Within a month, he promised that all nominated posts would be filled, prioritising those who worked at the grassroots level during challenging times.
Later, Lokesh visited the residence of Union Minister Srinivasa Varma in Bhimavaram and interacted with workers from three political parties. He reiterated that the TDP had unconditionally supported the NDA to end chaotic governance in Andhra Pradesh and stated that the central government would assist in the state’s development. Reflecting on the 2019 elections, Lokesh recalled predicting 22 MP seats during a Rajahmundry rally, with the party ultimately securing 21. He concluded by stressing the need to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for India’s progress by 2047.
