A Central team will visit on January 23 to conduct a feasibility study for establishing an airport in Badradri Kothgudem district.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday announced that Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu had agreed to send the Central team to study the feasibility of establishing the airport.
The Minister also mentioned that several airport lands have been identified in the vicinity of Kothagudem and Palvancha. Additionally, funds for this survey have already been sanctioned. Several suitable locations for the Greenfield airport in the district have also been identified.
In response to Minister Nageswara Rao’s request, a special six-member team will visit the Bhadradri Kothagudem district to assess the feasibility of setting up the airport.
The Minister directed the District Collector to make all necessary arrangements for the team’s visit.
The Minister highlighted that rapid progress is being made in the establishment of the airport in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district. He mentioned that the airport would significantly change the landscape of the Palvancha and Kothagudem areas. It would provide job opportunities to thousands of youth and contribute immensely to the district’s development of commercial, tourism, and industrial sectors.
Minister Nageswara Rao expressed special thanks to Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and Chief Minister A Revenath Reddy for their cooperation. He mentioned that the Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy promptly sanctioned funds when requested for the study.
