TPCC President Revanth Reddy challenged BRS leaders and gave them a strong counter asking them to check out history to understand what the Congress has done.
On Wednesday, former minister A. Chandrasekhar and his associates joined the Congress in the presence of Revanth Reddy and AICC in-charge Manik Rao Thakre at the Gandhi Bhavan.
Revanth and Manik Rao Thakre invited Chandrasekhar into the Congress and Revanth addressed party workers on the occasion. Chandrasekhar played a vital role in the Telangana movement. Revanth said that they will be given an appropriate post in the Congress.
He said that Telangana has become a graveyard in the last nine years under the BRS.
“The BRS says Telangana has become number one in the country. Yes, no state in this country has 60,000 belt shops. In the name of wine shop tenders, KCR pocketed Rs 2,500 crore. The Congress built the Outer Ring Road but KCR sold it for Rs 7,500 crore,” he said.
“While the Congress built irrigation projects, KCR misappropriated Rs 1 lakh crore in the name of the Kaleshwaram Project. Works under the 22nd package have not been completed in Kamareddy. KCR should come to Kamareddy only when Godavari water comes there,” said Revanth.
“We built 25 lakh Indiramma houses in 10 years. Don’t ask for votes where Indiramma has given houses. We will not ask for votes where you have given double-bedroom houses,” Revanth told BRS leaders.
“KCR trampled the slogan ‘Neellu, Nidhulu, Niyamakalu (water, funds and appointments). The BJP, the BRS and the AIMIM are one. Congress is the only alternative to the BRS. Defeat the BJP, the BRS and the AIMIM and ensure the victory of the Congress. If the Congress comes to power we will waive loans of up to Rs 2 lakh taken by farmers. We will fill the two lakh vacancies in government service. Our government will bear medical expenses up to Rs 5 lakh through Arogyashri. We will give an LPG cylinder for Rs 500 and will provide Rs 5 lakh to the poor who build houses. The public meeting being held in Chevella on August 26 must be successful,” Revanth said.
He said that KCR’s statements have confirmed that the BRS and the BJP are having an alliance.
“KCR used the Communists and dumped them. KCR, who had an alliance with the Communists in Munugode said that he would join hands with them and contest against the BJP and the Congress.
KCR went to New Delhi, met Modi and made a secret deal with Amit Shah. After that, the BRS dumped the Communists. Why did KCR unilaterally announce seats without giving seats to the Communists?” he asked.
Revanth reviewed arrangements for the Praja Garjana Sabha being held at Chevella on August 26. He asked local party leaders about the arrangements and called upon party workers to make the Praja Garjana Sabha a success.
