Telangana sports secy stresses on smooth conduct of CM Cup

Telangana Sports Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania on Wednesday stressed on smooth conduct of the Chief Minister’s Cup to be held from May 28 to 31.

Approximately 10,000 sportspersons, including 3,700 women are expected to participate in the state-level tournament; they will arrive in Hyderabad on May 27. Officials have been asked to take up sanitation works and the electricity department has been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the six stadiums which will host the tournament. Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao will be the chief guest for the opening ceremony to be held at the LB Stadium on May 28.

As part of the ceremony, a march-past will be held followed by felicitation of eminent sportspersons.  Traffic officials have been asked to monitor the traffic movement in the vicinity as 200 buses are expected to arrive at the stadium. Medical department is responsible for setting up camps across the venues ahead of the tournament. Sultania also stressed on the beatification of Tank Bund and buildings hosting the participants.

The venues for the tournament are Secunderabad Gymkhana Ground, LB Stadium, Gachibowli Sports Complex, KBR Indoor Stadium, Sarurnagar Stadium and the Shooting Range at the University of Hyderabad.

Additional Director General of Law and Order Sanjay Kumar Jain, City Police Commissioner, along with many police officers, Greater Hyderabad Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Hyderabad Collector Ajay Kumar, Rangareddy District Collector Dr C Harish, Tourism Department MD Manohar, RDO Venkateshwarlu, District Medical Health Department, Vidyut, officials of Metro Water Board and State Sports Authority were present at the meeting.

Ahead of the tournament, various competitions were conducted   at the district level.
