Prohibitory orders under Section 144 BNS banning the assembly of more than four persons in public in Jainoor, are still being enforced. It shows that the situation on the ground remains unchanged and tension is still running high.
The traders have not yet opened the shops posing a problem to the residents of the town. Normal life has continued to be hit. On September 5 two groups — Adivasis and those belonging to a minority group -clashed in Jainoor town following attempt to outrage the modesty of a woman and murder her.
The prohibitory orders have continued on 22nd day on Saturday. The market in the mandal headquarters town still remains closed.
Internet services in Jainoor, Sirpur U, Lingapur, Kerameri in Agency areas still remained suspended, paralysing the online services of the state government. No transaction is taking place in the SBI branch of Jainoor even now. The farmers are not able to get crop loans for the past three weeks. The private educational institutions in Jainoor still remain shut, according to parents who are concerned over the education taking backseat in the mandal.
The Mee Seva centres remain closed, making it difficult for the needy to obtain caste, birth, residence, income, death certificates. The people living in Lingapur and Sirpur U are dependent on Jainoor for their procurement of goods from market. Therefore, the rural people have been facing difficulties to get the supplies of essential commodities. Since the shops remain shut for the past 22 days, the rural people would have to travel to Utnoor, which is 30 km way from Jainoor.
However, the police authorities relaxed the prohibitory orders to enable the people to go to the vegetable market located at a distance of one km away from the mandal and buy vegetables for a few hours.
The police have been relaxing the prohibitory orders from 8 am to 11 am and again from 4 pm to 7pm. The vegetable vendors are not keen to run the shops there as the relaxation period is lmited.
Meanwhile, the police have been initiating measures to maintain the law and order in the town. Tight police security has been thrown in around the town. The police have been thoroughly searching the vehicles travelling towards Jainoor. They are also noting down the vehicle numbers.
The police have been patrolling the town to prevent any untoward incidents taking place. The police have been holding meetings with the village elders, Patels and others from time to time to maintain peace in the town. Assistant Commissioner of Police R Prabhakar Rao has been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring peace in the village.
Tension still high in violence-ridden Jainoor
