Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced a bold vision to transform the state into a USD 3 trillion economy by the centenary of India’s independence in 2047.
In his address on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day, he said the government has already prepared the “Telangana Raising – 2047” action plan to ensure that Telangana emerges as the number one state in the country.
“India is moving towards becoming a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047. Telangana will play a crucial role in that journey. We aim to make our state a USD 1 trillion economy in the next 10 years and reach three trillion by 2047,” the Chief Minister said, urging people to stand with the ‘People’s Government’ in delivering transparent governance and all-round development. Revanth reiterated his government’s resolve to rebuild Telangana after what he called a “dictatorial and dysfunctional decade.”
He said the administration took charge on December 7, 2023, with disintegrated systems and a broken economy, but has since embarked on a path of reconstruction and reform.
Highlighting key achievements, he mentioned the appointment of Vice Chancellors to universities, the formation of commissions for education, agriculture, and information, and PSC reforms to ensure regular recruitment exams.
On women’s empowerment, he said the Indira Mahila Shakti Scheme aims to make one crore women millionaires through access to loans worth Rs 1 lakh crore over five years. In the first year, Rs 21,000 crore was disbursed. Women’s groups have been empowered with responsibilities ranging from running petrol pumps and stitching school uniforms to managing solar plants and canteens. The government is also supporting women SHGs to own and operate 600 buses under the TGSRTC.
In the farming sector, he said the state waived loans worth Rs 20,617 crore for over 25 lakh farmers and is supplying free power at an annual cost of Rs 15,333 crore.
The Rythu Bharosa allowance has been enhanced to Rs 12,000 per acre, and landless agricultural labourers are being supported through Indira Atmiya Bharosa. He added that Telangana now leads the country in paddy production with 268 lakh tonnes.
The Chief Minister said 60,000 posts have been filled in just 16 months, including 10,000 teaching posts, and a job calendar ensures recruitment in multiple sectors like irrigation, police, health, and SCCL. The government is also offering Rs 1 lakh assistance to civil services hopefuls.
On health and education, he highlighted the setting up of 58 Young India Integrated Residential Schools with an outlay of Rs 11,600 crore, and the new Osmania Hospital being built on 27 acres at a cost of Rs 2,700 crore.
He also referred to the fine rice scheme, which has benefited 3 crore people and is aimed at restoring the dignity of the poor.
Revanth said the government is developing Future City on 30,000 acres, along with Pharma City, AI City, and Sports City. The Rs 18,000 crore Regional Ring Road project and Rs 24,000 crore Metro Rail Phase-2 expansion are underway, along with the Musi rejuvenation project and airport development.
