People are urged to avoid exposure to heat waves

With temperatures soaring past 45 degrees Celsius, Telangana recorded its hottest day of the year on Tuesday, prompting Special Chief Secretary for Disaster Management Arvind Kumar to issue a public advisory urging residents to avoid exposure to the sun between 12 noon and 4 pm.

“Temperatures above 40°C are expected to persist until April 25,” Arvind Kumar said, warning that districts in north Telangana are already witnessing extreme heatwave conditions. He urged citizens to carry umbrellas or caps, keep their heads covered, and stay hydrated.

Peak Heatwave Conditions: Nizamabad led the heat chart at a scorching 45.3°C, followed closely by Adilabad (45.2°C), Nirmal (45.1°C), and Mancherial (45°C). Several other districts including Asifabad,

Jagitial, Kamareddy, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar also hovered dangerously close to 45°C, making this the most severe spell of the season so far.

City Sizzles: Even Hyderabad wasn’t spared, with localities across the capital reeling under intense heat. Moosarambagh, Bowenpally, Uppal, and Miyapur all recorded 42.1°C. Other hotspots included Mehdipatnam, Amberpet, Nacharam, and Banjara Hills, each logging nearly 42°C.
