With a pledge to transform Telangana into a model of inclusive growth and progress, Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy unfurled the national flag at the Integrated District Office Complex in Suryapet on Monday, marking the state’s 12th Formation Day.

He paid homage to the martyrs of the Telangana Movement, emphasising that their sacrifices laid the foundation for the state’s development journey.

Addressing the gathering, he stressed Telangana’s commitment to the ‘Telangana Rising – 2047’ vision document and said that the state government had formulated several key policies like the Welfare and Social Justice Policy, Green Energy Policy, Innovation and Industrial Policy, and Tourism Policy to achieve these goals.

Uttam said that farmers were at the heart of Telangana’s growth and that in the last 18 months, 25,35,964 farmers had benefited from the Rs 20,617 crore crop loan waiver. He said that irrigation infrastructure had expanded rapidly, with the modernisation of major canals like the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal, Mukthala Branch Canal, Janapadu Branch Canal and lift irrigation schemes to bring more land under cultivation.

He said that Telangana’s flagship free fine rice distribution scheme ensured that all ration cardholders received six kg of fine rice per person per month through fair price shops, strengthening food security.

In housing, 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses were under construction, each receiving Rs 5 lakh in phased payments. Health services have been expanded through the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme with an annual coverage of Rs 10 lakh per family.

Uttam reaffirmed the Congress Government’s commitment to ensure the welfare of all citizens, saying that from irrigation to education, all schemes reflected the government’s dedication to achieving a prosperous Telangana by 2047.
