TG Mahila Congress chief Sunitha apologises

Telangana Mahila Congress President Mogili Sunitha Rao apologised for staging a dharna in front of TPCC chief B. Mahesh Kumar Goud’s chamber in Gandhi Bhavan on May 14.

Addressing the media on Tuesday at the Gandhi Bhavan, she said that she had received a show cause notice issued by All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba and that she had spoken to Congress leaders over the phone.

She said that she spoke to the state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and also to Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba when she went to Delhi recently. Sunitha said the things that had happened in the Gandhi Bhavan were very sad and that she did not do it intentionally. She said that she takes responsibility for whatever she did and to party heads to forgive her and Mahila Congress leaders.

She said that TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud had promised to give a big platform to Mahila Congress and had also said that he would provide equal justice to SC, ST, BC and minorities.

She said not to believe rumours that she is shifting her loyalty to another political party. “I am not changing my party. I am informing the media that I will abide by the Congress high command’s decision, whatever it may be,” she said.
