TG only state with Govt medical & nursing colleges in all districts: KTR

Telangana is the only state in the country with government medical and nursing colleges in all districts, a testament to the strong focus placed on healthcare and medical education during BRS rule, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao said. Reiterating the BRS government’s achievements, KTR said, “During our 10-year rule, we gave the highest priority to health and medical education. Telangana is the only state in India with a government medical college and a government nursing college in all districts. We transformed Telangana into the number one state in healthcare.”
Addressing the graduation ceremony of the 2019 MBBS batch at the Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences in Karimnagar, KTR urged junior doctors to serve patients with compassion and empathy, reminding them that a doctor’s words can heal as much as their prescription.
“Congratulations to the 2019 batch of MBBS students who are stepping into the noble profession of medicine,” KTR said, recalling a personal matter. “My mother once hoped I’d become a doctor,” he added. He emphasised that the role of doctors goes beyond treatment. “KCR once told me that doctors must be ready to set aside their personal lives and priorities to save lives. If a doctor speaks kindly to a patient, 50 per cent of the illness will get healed. Communication has a psychological effect,” he said.
