TG showcases tourism potential at Berlin ITB

Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy represented Telangana at the International Business Trade (ITB) Conference held from March 4 to 6 at the Berlin Expo Center City in Germany. Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director N Prakash Reddy also attended the prestigious global event alongside Ramesh Reddy.
The inaugural ceremony saw Ramesh Reddy sharing the stage with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, Indian Ambassador to Germany Ajit Gupte and Berlin Mayor Kai Wagner. The Telangana delegation received a warm welcome from the Indian diaspora in Berlin, with cultural performances by Telangana women showcasing the vibrant traditions of Bathukamma and Bonalu.

Addressing the gathering, Ramesh Reddy highlighted Telangana’s commitment to boosting tourism under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the guidance of Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. He announced that a new tourism policy for 2025-2030 would soon be introduced, aimed at attracting investments, offering incentives and fostering cooperation in the sector.
He underscored Telangana’s rich heritage, historical significance and natural beauty, positioning the State as a premier tourist destination. “Telangana is home to the UNESCO-recognized Ramappa temple, the Buddha Park at Nagarjuna Sagar, the Amrabad and Qawwal Tiger Reserves, and Hyderabad – the City of Pearls – famed for its heritage sites such as Golconda Fort, Charminar and Qutub Shahi Tombs,” he said. He also emphasized the global popularity of Hyderabad’s iconic Dum Biryani and the state’s growing appeal in temple tourism, medical tourism, and eco-tourism.
The Berlin ITB Conference, featuring over 400 international experts, 200 sessions and 17 themed tracks, focused on key trends such as digital transformation, sustainable development, artificial intelligence, and tourism market strategies. Representatives from leading hotels, tourism boards, tour operators, and travel industry experts engaged in discussions on the future of global tourism. Ramesh Reddy reiterated Telangana’s commitment to leveraging these insights for the rapid development of its tourism sector and invited global investors to explore opportunities in the State.
