TG to have revenue officer for every village

The government would appoint a revenue officer for each village, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.
The Minister said that due to the cancellation of the VRO and VAO system by the BRS government without putting in place suitable alternatives, rural areas were left without any revenue system. The Congress government will restore the revenue system and will have one revenue officer for every village, he said.
Addressing a meeting of revenue employee unions held at the secretariat on Saturday, Ponguleti said that officials of the Revenue Department should work together with sincerity to make common people happy, keeping in mind that people are the central point in governance.
“Your working style needs to improve. The way it worked in the past is different, now it is different. Put aside the old attitude. Work transparently with honesty and commitment,” he said.
The Minister said that the revenue mechanism should work with a positive attitude and create trust among the people and bring a good name to the government.

“Ours is an employee-friendly government. No personal grudges against anyone. We aim to help the poor. A clear change should be seen in the revenue system in the coming days. Every Rupee due to the government should come, every inch of government land should be protected and even a yard of land should not be allowed to be grabbed. In protecting government lands, legal action should be taken without any compromise. We will set up a special legal cell in the office of the Chief Secretary (Revenue) in the Secretariat to give proper instructions and advice regarding this,” he said.
The Minister assured that the non-financial issues of employees would be resolved immediately. He said that on September 29, a meeting would be held with MRO-level officials and on October 6 with RDOs, Additional Collectors and Special Grade Deputy Collectors.
