Telangana is set to host the 72nd Miss World festival in 2025, marking a significant milestone for the state under the global spotlight. The event will be held from May 7 to May 31, with various destinations across Telangana playing host to different segments of the festival. The grand finale and closing ceremonies will be held in Hyderabad.
Following the success of the 71st Miss World, which was hosted in New Delhi and Mumbai, the event is now moving to Telangana – a state celebrated for its fusion of tradition and innovation. The pageant, the oldest-running international beauty festival, continues to promote diverse representations of beauty with a purpose, alongside humanitarian causes.
Telangana has emerged as a safe and tourist-friendly destination, making it an attractive choice for global events. The state’s rapid strides in economic and infrastructural development, coupled with its thriving international connectivity, played a crucial role in securing the event.
The official announcement was made by Julia Morley CBE, chairperson of Miss World, in the presence of Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana for Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Youth Affairs.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Julia Morley stated, “We are delighted to bring the 72nd Miss World Festival to Telangana, a state that beautifully represents its rich culture, innovation, and hospitality. Partnering with the Telangana government allows us to showcase its incredible heritage and dynamic growth to a global audience.”
The event is expected to boost Telangana’s global tourism profile, attracting visitors and international media attention. The state government, in collaboration with the Miss World organization, is expected to ensure a grand and seamless execution of the event.
